How to Survive A Stray Feline Invasion

While outside with my boys last week, we heard a pathetic meowing coming from the bushes next to the road. As I called out, “Kitty kitty?” a tiny little tortoise shell cat crept forward. She spotted my sons, who had gotten quiet, and sat on the ground, and went running to my youngest son. We played outside for about an hour, with the kitty all the while playing with the boys and getting to know me as well. As we prepared to troop inside, the kitty came in on her own too. Uh-oh. The cat moved it, and I didn’t even realize it. A full week later, and the kitty has us trained. We all know our lives will never, ever be the same again. She is a riot, and plays with the boys as if she was a dog, and she chases the dog- who out weighs her by at least seventy pounds.  I am waving the white flag in surrender. This kitty stole my heart and now rules us with her tiny paws and green eyes.
