Daily Routines are Boring but Necessary
My daily routine is rather boring, but it is also necessary. Because I have a 93-year old mother, I start my day by phoning her to make sure she is up and doing well. Then I shower, and pull out my “To Do” list and figure out what the most pressing thing is that I have to do. Usually it is something that pertains to my mother, like a doctor’s appointment. The rest of my time is spent in my garden, harvesting the vegetables – or in the kitchen, canning or preserving the vegetables and/or planning dinner. Of course, don’t forget the housecleaning and the laundry, which are all part of my daily routine. There are minor tasks and activities that make a Monday different from a Wednesday, but for the most part my daily routine pretty much adheres to this tight script. It’s all boring, but all necessary.
