I would surf the Internet and probably start up my own little Internet business. Not sure what kind of business I would start but it would help a little towards income and keep me from getting too bored. I would also be outside a lot in the warmer months working in the yard. I love the outdoors and spending time in nature. In the winter months I would probably spend a lot of my time in front of the television. I would spend the first few months of my retirement getting my house organized since it is hard to do when working.
My parents were divorced when I was small, so my memories of them are separate. My fondest memory of my mother is how at the age of 52 after her second husband passed she finally became independent. She went to college. She learned how to drive. She learned to balance a checking book and she got her first job. She was so determined and had so much perseverance she made me very proud. My fondest memory of my father was the weekends he would pick us up and spent every moment we had together doing things that interested us. He would always make the weekend fun.
I have only a cell phone carrier, since I got rid of my landline last year. One of the reasons I did so was that I was satisfied with my cell phone service provider and was able to make all the calls I needed without having to pay anything extra. I have T-Mobile and have been a customer of theirs for years now, because there has never been a problem. In fact, the rates are cheaper now and more services are included for a low monthly price! Now that I have a son with a cell phone on the plan, I appreciate them even more and can really value the many “anytime” minutes, as well as free weekends and evenings.
