I get around by bus, by bike, or just by walking. I have always wanted to take a cab but its so very expensive. I used to like the bus until I realized that the MTA is so much in debt that they keep raising costs and now there are even contemplating dropping the free rides for school kids. Walking I feel is so slow so if I am going to a place even a couple of blocks away I prefer my bike. However during the winter season it is not reasonable to use a bike. Therefore I am unhappy with all the transportation available to me. I would choose teleportation if it were available.

So my parents are from India and we live the US. Therefore I have a taste in both cultures. I listen to songs in Hindi and English. I do not know all the genres of music out there but I like music that I can actually listen to it and distinguish what is being said so I definitely hate heavy metal or rock. Opera is just plain boring and I do not see the point in wasting your breathe like that when you could just talk. I do like country and the slow type of music but only if I can relate to it. I also enjoy music that makes you feel that you need to get up and dance, for example Beyonce’s Single Ladies. Most hindi music comes out of Bollywood. Plus I like the fact that I know the story behind the songs since I have seen the movie.
We live in a house. We used to live in houses that were joined together and meant to be apartments but we bought it so it was more like a private house. Then one to two years ago my parents got it in there head that they needed a new house. My dad was adamant that he would make a house from scratch, with help from contractors of course. My mom tried to reason with him to no avail. They had to take out a loan and everything to get this project started. Then in the middle there is a recession. Although the house is finished we are in a bit of a tight spot especially since I am going to college next year and that has to be paid for. Our house I feel as though I shouldn’t like it because it has caused us so much trouble but it is really nice and I’m having fun in it.
I and everyone else who is part of Arista was required to give tours of the school to possible incoming Freshmen. We were all waiting in the teacher’s cafeteria for the promised pizza. Last time we did the tours the pizza’a took forever to come and we were all starving waiting for them, there was also a shortage. This time we had enough and it came plenty early. However the pizza was not that great. I know that most people hate oil but I swear that the pizza that looks as if it were soaked in oil looks and tastes the best.
Dogs of all breeds can be very essential in a person’s life. From the odd looking Chihuahua to the trustworthy Labrador , children in particular have a wide variety of breed to choose from. My family has a Pekingese, which at times can be very troubling. Her name is Honey. She can be peaceful and nice but at times she’ll snap and bite our socks. Buying her dog beds was actually fun because she started off with a little one and we were walking through a store and found her a better one. All in all, getting her has been a very enjoyable decision and we love her sassy personality.
I have recently decided I would like a new career. I think working at home sounds really interesting to me. I have checked into several different work at home positions. I found one with a call center that I really like since I have done that before. I may try that out for a change. I found that looking into at home work if very difficult. There are a lot of scams for work at home positions. I suggest anyone looking into doing something like this really checks out the business before they get started. One hint I can suggest is: If they ask for money up front, look for a different business.
I own a Hewlett Packard computer. My first few computers were all Hewlett Packard. The last one I owned had so many problems I swore I would never own one again. The toll free number they supplied for technical support was horrible. I then went to Compaq and loved it. I never had any problems and if I did have any questions the toll free number they had was very helpful. I swore I would only own Compaq after that. Since then Hewlett Packard has bought out Compaq. So I am now back with a Hewlett Packard but I have had it now for years and love it. They improved with the addition of Compaq.
I have a black labrador and I called him Blacky. He weights more than 70 pounds. Now he is 2 year old. His hair looks so silky and shiny. Anyone who see’s him at night will get frightened. But he is not as tough as his appearance. He is good guard and a friend to my family. Two weeks before my dad brought a brown dog collar for Blacky. He was not wearing any collar since he was one year old. So he did not allow me to put the dog collars and leashes on. The I bought some biscuit for him and showed him and told him that I will give these biscuits only if he his ready to wear the collar. And this time when I tried to put the collar he sat there silently and put the collar around his neck. I think that he can understand our language. Every morning I take him for a morning walk. At first I was afraid to take him out. But when he is with me he is always obedient. The only thing he fights with me is for meat. If I do not give meat with the meal he won’t even smell that food. And he won’t take his food till he gets the meat.
I would surf the Internet and probably start up my own little Internet business. Not sure what kind of business I would start but it would help a little towards income and keep me from getting too bored. I would also be outside a lot in the warmer months working in the yard. I love the outdoors and spending time in nature. In the winter months I would probably spend a lot of my time in front of the television. I would spend the first few months of my retirement getting my house organized since it is hard to do when working.
My parents were divorced when I was small, so my memories of them are separate. My fondest memory of my mother is how at the age of 52 after her second husband passed she finally became independent. She went to college. She learned how to drive. She learned to balance a checking book and she got her first job. She was so determined and had so much perseverance she made me very proud. My fondest memory of my father was the weekends he would pick us up and spent every moment we had together doing things that interested us. He would always make the weekend fun.
