One thing is certain about dogs, they like to explore! Many new dog owners have trouble keeping up with their frisky and tricky canine companions. Sadly, this can lead to your pet being separated from you or even lost! Some people recommend electronic collars, but those inflict pain on your pet. My favorite devices are tall dog gates. My dog has been safe and sound because of the enclosure I’ve bought for him! He won’t get hurt from a painful electric shock – a small gate inside my house (Think of a baby gate!) tells him where he is not allowed. Less time worrying about your dog’s safety leaves more for the fun and love we know that dogs love to give out to us!
My day was a little hectic and a little inconvenient, but a wonderful day. Isn’t that the way of life? I woke up and did a little work on the computer (writing, of course!) I spent time with my daughter, watched a little television, argued with my father, did a little laundry. I had a revealing and personal conversation with my mother regarding how we hope my brother will grow and change into a more mature adult, because he currently has a slightly narrow view on the way things should be in life. We also discussed my mothers marriage to my father, and I told her how I think some time’s he just gut’s frustrated about how she talks to him, just about as frustrated as she gets about the way he handles the conversations that she tries to have with him.
For decades television sitcoms had been a staple on major network television. There were so many. There were some for every age demographic in a household as well others that were enjoyable and entertaining for the entire family. Somewhere along the way two MTV producers came up with the idea to throw 7 strangers together in a New York City loft and document their day to day living situations for a television show. It was quite the innovative idea. Nothing like it had ever been done for television before. The show was a huge success and almost 20 years later it is still going strong. It is called the Real World. It seemed to be the beginning of the end for situation comedies. Real people living their real lives seemed much more entertaining than the scripted hi-jinks we had become used on t.v. Since the Real World, most major networks and several cable networks have made reality television their primary focus. There are reality shows where you can get plastic surgery to change your entire look. Shows to become a model, a top chef, fashion designer, singer, actress have taken over the air waves. There are shows for dating or where within 3 weeks you can find your husband or wife. It’s tragic and television needs to return to the light hearted fun days before the Reality show killed the sitcom star.

I am considered a local authority on cloth diapering and receive emails and phone calls from across the country on the topic due to my hundreds of hours of researching. I am diving deeply into the world of gluten-free baking, since my eldest son has been diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Just because he can never eat wheat is no reason he can’t have delicious cakes, cookies and comfort foods. I have spent the last year and a half testing and retesting recipes so that they taste just as wonderful as their flour-laden counterparts. I’ve spent years defining and refining my homeschooling ideology; carefully selecting subjects, texts and books to help build my children into the best I believe they can be. I think a true geek can thrive wherever she gets placed, if you don’t miss the forest for the trees. Just because I won’t be a formal scientist in the workforce for the next two decades doesn’t mean I have to lose my identity. I can be the geekiest, happiest mom and learn a lot in the process that I didn’t plan for!
